Your performance psychology coach will nurture and develop the mental skills to help you achieve optimal performance in life and recovery during your addiction recovery program. Optimal performance psychology is about doing your best, whatever your best may be at that particular moment. Sometimes it could be about preparation for a killer sales presentation. Sometimes it could be about being the best parent you can be and sometimes it might just be about using some of your learned mental skills to avoid having a drink that day.

Life Design Coaching (Find Your Ikigai)
Here we revisit the concept of ikigai and the intersection of the four core questions:
What do you love? What are you good at? What does the world need? What can you be paid for? In these sessions, we will help you envision your dreams and nurture the strength required to achieve them. We will free you from the limiting beliefs that have been holding you back. We will help you recognize your potential and build a realistic plan to achieve it.
Like many of the Flow’s addiction recovery programs, this is rooted in the principles of positive psychology. We focus on what is right with you rather than what is wrong. We tap into your assets and help you flourish. This is another pillar of our program that truly sets us apart from other sober homes.
- Encourages self-discovery and personal growth
- Helps you create a vision for what you want to achieve
- Pinpoints the strengths, strategies and steps that will help you get there
- Utilizes expertise and motivational techniques to support you along the way
- Provides accountability
Addiction Counseling Sessions
Our therapists are deeply compassionate and highly qualified. You will work with your therapist during your addiction recovery program to build a strong and trusting relationship that allows you to open up and explore whatever you need to at your own pace. We have a broad range of expertise that will help you develop self-esteem and confidence, emotional resilience and regulation, coping skills, healthy new beliefs, a strong self-concept, and behaviors that will carry you forwards on your new path.
Group Counseling Sessions
Group therapy in an addiction recovery program helps you build confidence and trust. It is an opportunity to express yourself in a safe space. Addiction is isolation and suffering in silence. The opposite of addiction is connection. And this is what our group therapy sessions provide. You will feel supported and loved. You will find your voice. By sharing our experiences, we see that we are not alone. Through mutual support we can grow together and locate our struggles in a universal framework.
A DIET THERAPY FOR ADDICTION RECOVERY
Nutrition Coaching
Healthy eating habits are crucial to people recovering from alcohol and drug addiction. Achieving nutritional balance, and developing healthy eating habits help to eradicate the harm that addiction does to the body. Eating right doesn’t have to be spartan. For an additional fee ($100 USD per session) you will work with Sarah Savidge ( click here to see Sarah Savidge’s bio) Sarah will make your nutritional journey at the Flow Recovery Retreat fun, empowering, rewarding and above all sustainable. It will become a lifestyle that helps to drive your physical and mental wellbeing. You will leave Flow Recovery Retreat with the intrinsic motivation and the skills and knowledge to maintain this new lifestyle.
Early recovery is a critical opportunity to supply your mind and body with the right nutrients to rebuild. Neuroplasticity is the brain’s natural capacity to build new neural connections. With the right nutrition we can optimize that process.
Even if we have the intention to eat right, we might not have the sustained motivation or the expertise to translate that into action. Temptation is rife, and the world of nutrition can seem complex and overwhelming.
We can empathetically coach you to explore issues that may have caused emotional eating. We understand this is not always an easy path. Much like our substance of choice, many people find they have issues with food that go beyond nutrition.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness and meditation help you train your attention to build mental resilience and a deep sense of wellbeing. Our program frees you from repetitive negative thoughts about the past and the future. You learn to anchor yourself in the present moment, to appreciate life in its fullness.
Mindfulness is rapidly gaining traction as a potent treatment for a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression and addiction.
Yoga
Numerous studies have demonstrated that yoga supports recovery from depression, anxiety and substance abuse. It helps you get back in touch with your body, supporting physical and mental wellbeing. Our tailored yoga program can be as light or as strenuous as you desire. We are guided by your needs. Yoga can be an important step on the path to serenity.

Relapse Prevention
The Gorski model of relapse prevention is a helpful tool when addressing relapse and relapse prevention plans with clients. The Gorski model proposes that people often have many early warning signs that precede a relapse. Many people in addiction are not able to recognize these early warning signs as they are automatic and unconscious. This model allows individuals to identify and address early warning signs of relapse through the following nine steps: stabilization, assessment, relapse education, identifying warning signs, managing warning signs, recovery planning, inventory training, family involvement, and follow up. Each step allows the client to develop more skills and self-awareness during addiction rehab recovery in order to help prevent relapse from occurring in the future.
